True Volunteerism |
Members volunteer as much time as they want, and ONLY in the activities that interest them. Monthly membership meetings are fast, informative, and entertaining, but attendance is not required. The organization is career and family friendly. Members participate out of a true sense of opportunity, not obligation. |
People of Influence |
It's often who you know that matters, and Jaycees are people who are connected. Involvement provides an opportunity to develop strong relationships.
Members share a very real connection with all other members, past and present: Presidents Gerald Ford & Bill Clinton, Domino's Pizza mogul Tom Monaghan, Subway's Founder and CEO Fred Deluca (a past Milford Jaycee), former Miss America Kaye Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson, and sports legends like basketball great Larry Bird. You name the field and Jaycees can be found at the forefront. |
Volunteer |
Each year millions are raised for local needs by local chapters. Chapters are located in 20 communities across Connecticut. Activities range from building playgrounds and town gazebos, to providing food baskets for those in need.
The hands-on practical training the Jaycee experience provides is immeasurable. Members may attend state wide networking events and training seminars, all designed to help the individual member be more successful.
Members can choose from over 50 different activities right here in Shelton. We also help other chapters run their larger projects. For example, the Buick Championship PGA Golf Tournament (formerly the GHO) is run by the Greater Hartford Jaycees. |
